Baby, oh Baby.
Have you seen this sweater over on Ravelry? I really have quite fallen in love with it. In my stash I have almost 2000 yards of this:
Somebodies Destash was my treasure. I do believe I like this combo. The sock frenzy is going to rest soon and I shall cast on Greenjeans and the Baby Cables sweater and do some multiple sweater knitting. Really.
Especially once I beat this silly game.....

FF IV Addiction
I started on the car ride last weekend when my knitting fingers started to ache.
Can't put it down.
Send the intervention now.
I may never sleep again....

Just Look at all that Green!
It's so soothing and cool! It's Not Red!I am going to finish these two pairs of socks this weekend, but I'm afraid I will not finish them in time to get them entered for the end of the SOS 08 competition.
Emily Parson's updated her Sophies Toes on Wednesday night, but I am sure there is little to nothing left. I restrained myself for reasons to be revealed. If you want some of Emily's lovely yarn, do sign up for her email list. She's very good about letting everyone know - I really was loving her Seashells colorway (shocking, I know! Not red, or pink or even green or blue!) I think she sold like 50 skeins between 7 and 9:30! Right now she's only got 12 colorways left.
What I did buy this week - it isn't here yet, but dharmafey at Cosmic Fibers Yarn dyed three of her Moonlight colorways in her sock yarn base - I can hardly wait to get them!!! She is absolutely brilliant with her themed colorways.

Meet Stupid.
Aren't I cute?
Mom says I may be the dumbest animal she has ever had the pleasure to live with. I thought I was pretty smart? I mean how many 11-month old puppies do you know that can find an open 50-pound bag of dog food and eat 1/4 his weight in food?
I mean, I know I didn't look so good masquerading as a pregnant goat. (At least, that's what mom SAID I looked like.) But, Dude! How often does a puppy get to eat 16 pounds of food at one time!
I felt kind of bad I got the Teen in trouble, but that didn't last very long.
It really sucked when I started throwing up, though.
The first time wasn't, much, but then it was again, and again.
Mom poked me in the belly and couldn't believe how hard it was - she said it was like a drum. Ummm, I'm not sure what explode means, but she used that word a lot.
Then, the best part? I got to go see my OTHER favorite people. The gang over at Anderson Lakes Vet - they know how to treat a puppy. Well, except when they gave me that drink and it made me throw up some more. Then some more. Then even more. But hey! I'm a Lab, we don't hold grudges.
Those ladies at Anderson put me on a platform when I got there and exclaimed 65!!! 65 pounds! (I don't know what the big deal is - just last week they put me on it and exclaimed 57 - that's not so much!) Then they gave me that drink, and you know what happened after that.
Mom even left me there to have lots of fun. A guy can only take so much petting, you know.
The Teen had to come and pick me up at 6:30, he wasn't very happy about it, but Dude!
Worst part about the whole day? I didn't get any dinner.
Love,
Ozzie

Fuschia Finale with MUCH Linky Goodness....
Pattern: Slip Stitch Delight from Terry Ross Designs Yarn: Eidos from the Sanguine Gryphon (purchased at The Loopy Ewe) Color: Bougainvillea Needles: Knitpicks Harmony DPN's in size 1 Started: August 8, 2008 Completed: August 13, 2008. Note: I started this pattern and got past the cuff design and started knitting the slip stitch pattern and HATED the futziness. I ripped the whole thing out - and reconsidered. I liked the cuff - how 'bout just the cuff and some stockinette - so that is what I did.
For those of you who are concerned, I have moved on to the greens this week - I will give your eyes a soothing rest next week.
I have been catching up on my Podcast listening on my walks while up at the cabin. It's a good thing we have no "innernets" up there, or I would be stashing us into the poorhouse. I mean, Lime & Violet found (the color-brilliant half of) Cider Moon's new home over on Etsy (and their new name!) Check out Yarnzombie's Moonbow! I just started listening to Manic Purl and I already got stuck back in her MAY Yarn Finds! Stash and Burn always sends me scrambling to look at new sweater patterns Twist Collective got some cash from me this month, and Knotions? Faggeddaboutit! Then there's the bloke from Australia that I listen to just for his interviews with the local artisans and business folk (Sticks & String, of course)! I listen to Cast On, (can we call Brenda Dayne the Grande Dame of Knitting Podcasts?), Socks in the City (love her Cosmic Fibers yarn! Ooops - I may have talked myself into some yarn.....), Y Knit and Belle of the Ball too, but I'm all caught up on those!
Well, we got home from "Up Nort" yesterday afternoon and we are heading back out on Friday so you may not hear from me again until next week - but have a great weekend!

The orange, the orange!
The orange just burns into the photo, doesn't it? If you check here, you can see a better photo of the colors.
Pattern: Fawkes by Monkey Toes (PDF off of Ravelry - that's the only place I know you can get it now since Monkey Toes has passed on.) Yarn: Emily Parson's Sophie's Toes Color: Homecoming Dance Needles: Knitpicks Harmony DPN's in size 2 Started: August 6, 2008 Completed: August 10, 2008. Note: This pattern was a pleasure from start to finish - I don't think I made any changes - the colors in this one are actually more of a rich autumn-type feel to it with a tone more towards the brown than the neon.
Poor Puck, he had to go have shots today (that Tetanus is a stinker - his arm is achin' now.) We're off to the cabin in the morning after Football practice. In the meantime, he and I are sneaking off to Osaka for dinner (mmmm cooking at the table - yum!), then it's more Olympics for us!

Scarlet!
It's actually much more of a scarlet color with fuschia striping. Either way, it is retina scorching, no?
I cast this on back in June, but I tore it out this weekend and started over. I didn't like the leg pattern, I did like the cuff, however. So I kept the cuff and made a stockinette sock. I finished the pair last night - but I'll show you some better pictures later.
Today, we are off to Lake Minnetonka to cruise around on our neighbor's boat. A day off from the school prepping. Tomorrow Puck gets a Physical and then we are on the road to the cabin - ya-hoooo!

This Would Be The Sock I Finished Last Week...
I actually started this pair before SOS08 started, so they've been on the back burner, but I just decided to pull it out because I love the yarn so much.
I still have another to knit, but I want to get through the Ravelympics first. In the meantime, I'm watchin' some Beach Volleyball, and watching some green skies come rolling in.
The kids got back-to-school haircuts today. The dentist appointments are tomorrow. Friday is the 12-year-old physical for Puck. In the meantime, we are trying to get the High School schedule straightened out. Also? The Teen has the Jeep out in the rainstorm - with the top off. Sheesh...

No Excuses.
No reason I haven't blogged. It's the last week of comparative idleness and Puck is home from camp and the Olympics (OMG Michael Phelps!) are on and we just felt like being Rulers of the Remote Controls! We put up a tent in the yard and Puck and Dad had a campout - with the dogs. We lounged out on the pontoon and practiced cannonballs with the puppy (remind me to take a picture - it's hysterical!) We pulled the tube behind the SeaDoo and shopped at the Farmer's Market for dinner. We are even going to make some homemade pickles! (Any recipes?) HMMM? What's that up there you say? Ummm. New yarn, what about it? So what if I bought an Anniversary Kit from The Loopy Ewe, it was a really good deal!!!! (Umm, there was an Loopy Update about 2 hours ago...., if you care, that is.) That up there is Handmaiden Casbah in the Loopified color. So. Soft. Bye, I'll be makin' pickles tomorrow, but I'll be back here and there to show you the socks I finished last night, and the single sock I finished last week, oh, and the pair I'm going to finish in a day or so. Mwah!!!

Lacuna!
Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock Lightweight (man, what a name!), in one of the Raven colorways. I took this picture yesterday, but I actually finished this sock this morning. I started this pair too early so it doesn't count toward SOS 08. I cast on the Fawkes pattern this morning, so that one will count.
Puck called from camp tonight (it was his 12th birthday last night!) - he's havin' a grand time. He really just wanted to confirm that Favre had left the GB practice yesterday, he was bummed when I told him it looked like Favre might go to Tampa Bay. Goofball (Puck, that is). I can't wait for my boy to come home, the house is much too quiet with him gone.

Ozzie: You jump, big boy, I'll grab...

Persephone
Pattern: Persephone's Socks from Oceanwin Knits Yarn: Scout's Swag Handpainted sock yarn Color: Stocker Pond (from sock yarn club) Needles: Knitpicks Harmony DPN's in size 1 Started: July 20, 2008 Completed: August 3, 2008. Note: These were a little more intricate of a pattern than I am used to, but once I’d ripped the entire thing once (too big), knitting it up was a breeze. The only change I made was to not break my yarn at the heel to start where they wanted me to start. Hate that.
****
Puck is off to hockey camp this week with a couple of his buddies. The Teen completed his P/Sat prep class this week - he scored a 216 on his sample test, so he's feeling pretty full of himself (that's well within the range for the National Scholarship Registry - yay!) All of a sudden, August is full of dentist and doctor appointments, haircuts and back-to-school pictures! Yipes!

Aaaaaaa-aaaaaaa-aaaaaah!
The Loopy Ewe benefited from my plumpish Paypal account from all the yarn I've destashed this year. New to my stash: Pagewood Farms, All Things Heather, Spindle City Yarns and Enchanted Knoll Farm. Notice that first one has a little cashmere in it - it is very delicious.
