Happy New Year!

Well, I made it back here just in time to wish you all a Happy Holiday!

Oh, and to wave around another FO. I've got three to show off, but here's number one. Also, the pictures are HORRIBLE! Really. For a Cookie A. pattern, these photos should be much better!

Glynis

Pattern: Glynis by Cookie A. from Sock Innovations Yarn: Knitterly Things Vesper Sock Yarn Semi Solid Color: Blue Spruce? Needles: Knitpick DPN's US 1 1/2 Started: December 4, 2009 Completed: December 22, 2009.

Note: For a Cookie A. pattern, this pair of socks was not too intricate. They turned out great and my 14-year-old niece nabbed them out of the basket, snick-snack!

A little break from socks coming up, some Bella's Mittens and some hats for January Hat Trick! over at Ravelry.

I got a new camera for Christmas so I'm hoping that will help with the bad photos!

The Third Dog:

Now, how could I resist a pattern called after the designer's husband's nom de plume; "3rd Dog"!

Pattern: 3rd Dog by Lorraine Umbers Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock - Lightweight Color: Oregon Red Clover Needles: Knitpick DPN's US 1 (2.25) Started: November 29, 2009 Completed: December 4, 2009.

Note: This is my favorite pair of STR socks that I have ever knitted. The pattern was easy and moved along really quickly. I knit the entire pair while I watched hockey and football. The pile for the Christmas Basket is getting along very nicely - I actually have two more pair on the needles!

We are almost ready for Christmas here. Puck and I have a complete BBQ pork sandwhich menu made up for Christmas Eve and the nieces and nephews are all getting Pook Toques for Christmas. Really. Teen and I brought a couple home from Vancouver and they have become the hit amongst the 8th graders in my son's group of friends.

I haven't toured my Christmas decorations, nor have we made any college decisions, we seem to be in a state of stasis. I do have new yarn though! I'll show you later...

Friday FO - Beans!

Pattern: Soybean Socks by Christabel Seneque Yarn: Lime & Violet Sock Stories Color: I have no idea - tag was lost Needles: Knitpick DPN's US 1 1/2 Started: November 17, 2009 Completed: November 25, 2009.

Note: This yarn base was nothing special, but the socks themselves finished up looking like a berry pie explosion.

Still no pictures of the bender, but so far I've only gotten one package.

Hisuiiro!

Pattern: Hisuiiro Socks by Claudia Eisenkolb Yarn: Knit Witch Celestial Color: Taurus Needles: Knitpick DPN's US 1 1/2 Started: November 6, 2009 Completed: November 29, 2009.

Note: Love the Knitwitch's colors. I will definitely try her yarn again, but it will be a different yarn base - the Celestial was very soft and splitty. I use sharp needles and yarn this splitty is a road to being cross-eyed! The pattern was fun and moved really fast once I got through it a first time.

I've been on a stash bender over the last week, so hopefully I'll have some pretty pictures to show you later this week!

Now THIS is Minnesota snow.

This is the Minnesota I grew up with, this snowstorm today? Pfft. I sneer in it's general direction! This is me, my little sister, our dog Princess and my mom. It looks to be about 1964-1965. Also? Way before we had a snowblower!
