Maybe THIS is a NE Knit?
Have you bought this book yet?
I pre-ordered this and it arrived last week. There are at least a half-dozen sweaters in here I'd like to knit. I will elaborate in a longer post later next week. With the yarns to go along...
This is Miss Babs Yowza - Whatta Skein! in Russet.
That link takes you to her site - but I don't think you'll be buying any new yarn for a little bit! Sounds like she was very lucky her only loss was material - and she had insurance! Check it out.
I am working on WIP photos this weeks - updates soon!

In the meantime I have some July socks to finish up...

O. M. G.
Okay, first of all I'm sure that Chris has linked this, but I just missed it. However, I caught it from the Bloggess. So I am going to third-handedly link to this - because, OMG I want to see the entire movie, not thus a 3 minute spoof!!!!

Is This a New England Knit?
Whattaya think?
(Sorry - I didn't realize this photo was so blurry - I was so worried about getting the color right!) This is Rowan Silky Tweed (from Webs, of course), plenty for a lovely sweater from my new book that I received this week. First I have to cast on for the KAL I joined (I KNOW!), we are going to knit Karira as we read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. (Ooo, look at that. I am almost as Linkity as Ms. Chris! NOT!)
On a side note, I have had a Kindle for over a year and I love it to death. It's a first generation and I have already read oodles of books on it. (Bonus: As I move my way to bifocals, I can make the fonts on all of my books bigger!) Is it wrong that I covet the next generation Kindle every time I click over to the Amazon page? (All right, I fixed that, I read all the 1 star reviews of the K2 and it looks like they removed the features of the K1 that make sense - like an SD card slot and a user replaceable battery.) I wonder what I'm going to do when my lovely K1 dies? Any ideas?

Glassy
I have a pile of new yarn in sweater quantities. Who wouldn't buy buttons in a situation like that? Especially buttons that look like these buttons.
Also? RIT was one of Teen's college choices - this must be good karma for Teen, right? Have I enabled you enough yet? Ok, then. Off to finish watching last week's SYTYCD on Hulu.

Looks like ice cream!
Pattern: Sunday Swing Socks by Kristel Nyberg Yarn: SKnitches Original Tones Color: Sugar Shack Needles: US 1½ - 2.5 mm Started: June 10, 2010 Completed: June 30, 2010
Note: Easy, stretch sock pattern. It looks like strawberry, chocolate chip ice cream. I really adore the Sknitches yarn base. These are generously sized, I may gift them to the SIL with the size 10 feet.
Now I am going to go re-watch the New Zealand/Scotland Lacrosse game - because what is better than a Haka faceoff with bagpipes?

Pretty WIP'y
I really do not like this new Blogger template. The old one was much easier to just throw my picture into, and then start typing.
This is my current WIP. In case you've forgotten, or never knew in the first place, for 2010 I had planned on a sock yarn stashdown by knitting two pair a month. By the end of June, I'd completed 12 pair (Really. I just haven't posted about pair #12 yet). Over the 4th of July weekend I smashed my left thumb in a car door and broke the tip. (I have X-rays to prove it!) I've been wearing a little removable metal splint to avoid the inevitable scream of pain when I bonk it against something. I can slide it off to knit, but I take a lot of breaks because it gets achey. Anyway, the two pair for July have been going rather slowly. This is sock #1 of pair #2. I may only get two halves of two pair done this month. Sigh. At least I have all my fingers, right?
Puck and Coach are heading to a Lacrosse camp/tournament at Notre Dame this weekend. I plan on playing catch-up with the knitting...at the cabin!

knitting excuse
Well, in the meantime, I am going to watch the USA/Canada Lacrosse match being streamed live from Manchester England! USA beat Australia yesterday 21 to 5. Iroquois team will not be able to play, however. It's all very sad.

Blogger is Being More Difficult than Usual.
That's OK however, because I was much too busy watching Whales and the Netherlands go at it tooth and nail. Whales was victorious. This was right after I watched the US kick some Australian tail - 21 to 5. It is an illness, I cannot watch enough Lacrosse.
I like it on my computer, however, because I can knit at the same time.
Tomorrow I have some pretty pictures of my thumb and the reason that there are not more knitting pictures this month!

Things I Don't Usually Do...
Knit baby items. I am beyond the age of friends having babies and have not yet reached grandchildren age. I attend a knitting group with members of varying ages. So now I do have a friend who is having babies. Or singularly, one baby and a toddler. We are all knitting for her shower basket:
A diaper cover and two Bunny Nuggets. Love the Bunny Nuggets from dangercrafts. I have been waiting to publish pictures of these for months!
Welcome to the world little one!
(Pssst! Guess what! I'm still at my cabin!)
