Walkin' Through Water

It has felt like walking through water for the last week in Minnesota.  This morning, the sky opened up and now I really am walking through water.

In the meantime, the Sockhead hat came off the needles last night.

You really need to see it worn to see how cute it is.  Check out Turtlegirl she's made a few.  My mirror/photo skills are not good.

Also, I'm working on my Karira socks, knitting and reading along The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.  The book is excellent, by the way, I don't know why I waited so long to read it.  I can hardly wait to start the next one. There is a Knitalong over on Ravelry, I have finished the book and now I am enjoying the sock pattern.

I also joined The Official Indie Socks CSK, and I'm ready to cast on the first pattern.  The thumb is healing up, Lacrosse is over and I am catching up with my lagging knitting projects.  This is the beginning of the Tulip Socks

We are also on the countdown until we leave to take our eldest to college.  15 days and we are on our way to Glacier National Park, Banff, Jasper and Lake Louise.  I've got the Passports ready to go.

Comments:
I just finished the last of the Dragon Tattoo books. Now I want to see the movie. The Swedish one--I'm a little afraid of what the US version will be like. Although they've cast Daniel Craig as Blomkvist, so there's that.

Pretty hat and sock start!

Glad to hear that your thumb is healing and that you have a slightly less crazy schedule for a while. :)

And yay for Glacier & Banff!!

I just found out the Hennepin County Library has the Dragon Tatoo book on a free download. Guess what I'll be listening to tonight?

Love the hat. Think I might need to try to make one or two.

I'm finishing The Help and I just bought the Dragon Tatoo. And now you tell me there is a knit along!? Heck yeah - I'm on my way over there right now.

I like the hat - I like how it has that slouchy look. Sounds like you have a wonderful vacation planned, too - lots of knitting to be had.

Are you doing ok about your babe flying off to college?

PS. A while back you asked about stinky Leo. OH MY GOD! He is disgusting. It's a mix of his anal something or other - won't go into details on that one. And would you believe . . . a fungus in his fur from swimming. We have to use anti-fungal shampoo on him (it works). PEEEE-euuuuuuuuu.

Did you get the Teen off to college okay??? I bet the house is quiet.

The hat looks wonderful!

I'm looking forward to reading of your adventures in the West.
