Hello and FO.

Tony and Freddie would like to say "Hello."

Tony

Freddie

They are part of a science project that is now finished. However, I will be feeding and cleaning their little tanks for the next two to three years. Did you know they excrete ammonia that will kill them if you do not add fresh water to their tank once a week? That's 208 tank changes for mom here. Yea, I know, the kid should do it, but then I'd have to clean up his mess. Boys!

Pattern: Autumn Lace Socks by Janine Le Cras. This sock pattern was free through the Six Sox Knitalong which is a Yahoo group - easy to join. Yarn: Chewy Spaghetti in the Comfy colorway. This is 100% Superwash Merino. It felt a little bit like Koigu to knit with. Needles: Knitpicks Harmony DPN's US 1.5/2.5 mm Started: December 5, 2008 Completed: December 17, 2008.

Note: These socks saw me through a rough time - I wasn't getting much done, so I needed a project that was quick and easy. I have one sleeve left on my Oh, Baby! sweater and I have cast on for the Ingenue and a pair of socks for Teen this morning. Nothing like finishing a project to light the fires!

How about another SAT question? This one's harder!

Read the following SAT test question, then click on a button to select your answer.

If x + 2x is 5 more than y + 2y, then xy =

A. click to choose answer A –5
B. click to choose answer B negative 5 over 3
C. click to choose answer C 3 over 5
D. click to choose answer D 5 over 3
E. click to choose answer E 5

I have to confess, I have no idea what the answer for this one is!

Comments:
Got the equation right - but the answer wrong the first time ...then I thought about it a little more & got it right. This is a sign that I have been assisting in algebra far more than is really necessary.

Now I am "Solid" kid you not that is my word verification.

Iz haz sinuz hedake and no doez da maths.

Pretty socks!

Hi Tony & Freddie! Freddie goes especially well with your socks. Nice pattern for a variegated yarn.

Ah, the maths. That was much more fun than figuring out what line the IRS wants me to put on what OTHER line. Gah.

the answer is D - my dh did it in 10 seconds flat. It made sense after I looked at how he did it :)

It's a relief to know I'd still do OK on those tests.

So, who got to name your new family members?

The degree to which I loathed--and still loathe--math problems like that cannot be measured.
