I Am So Lame.

Five whole days at the cabin with family and friends and I could not be bothered to lift my camera even one time. Seriously? Lame = me. Rest assured there was Sea-doo riding, paintball playing, late night poker, tubing behind the pontoon and much cooking and eating (Oh, and the boys blew up multitudes of exploding things.)

However, I have completed the second pair of socks for Summer of Socks '08.

Pattern: Twinkleberry by Beth LaPensee from Knitzi.com (I just noticed she has a new pattern up...) Yarn: Ruby Sapphire Yarns Ruby yarn in the Abby colorway Needles: Knitpicks Harmony DPN's in size 1 Started: July 1, 2008 Completed: July 6, 2008. Note: This yarn is soft and a little fuzzy, but these socks are going to be great and they are so very soft and scrunchy. The pattern was easy and so pretty (I think I'd pass on the short-row heel and come up with a heel flap next time.) I hope someone doesn't think I knit these too fast....I'd hate to come up under censure.

Puck has Lacrosse practice tonight, he's got to get ready for his traveling team's big tournament next weekend out in Amherst, Mass. Teen and I get to stay home and practice for the re-taking of the driver's license exam.

Comments:
Another gorgeous pair of socks! We'll let the camnesia go this time...

I do like those socks--both color and pattern. Know what you mean about the short row heel. I prefer the flap, too.

Holy cow - Amherst! Now, THAT'S a traveling team!

Good luck to Puck on the Lacrosse & Teen on the retaking. I am trying to convince a certain Gameboy that studying for the permit test would be a good idea - rather than "winging it" like he did when he failed. Studying has never been his strong suit.

Nice socks! If you didn't take pictures, that means you were having fun.

Yay for you - enjoying time away and not taking pics. Completely o.k. in my book!

I also went on vacation and didn't take a single picture don't feel bad. I am always amazed at how fast you can knit a pair of socks. I think the fastest I have ever knit a pair is ten days and that was with a deadline (that I made by three hours).

Don't think of it as being lame, think of it as not torturing us with bucolic scenes of your fabulous cabin getaway.

Those socks are cute. I have two new sock yarns. I need a pattern.
