We Are Home.

We saw a volcano. Hot magma!

A black sand beach and sea turtles.

Oh, and I burned my kids. They were surfing/snorkeling/boogie-boarding at the time, but ooo, the Teen has second degree burn blisters on his shoulders. It's gonna get in the way of Lacrosse, kind of hard to get those shoulder bads on over blistered sunburn. I am a bad mom with very white children.

See Puck go!

The Teen is rockin' it!

There was much Luauu-ing, snorkeling, cliff climbing and pool sitting. Big Island is wonderful!

Puck swears by the Moco Loco* (you do not want to know what that eleven year old gut can fit in it!) at the Big Island Grill. Teen votes for the fish and chips at LuLu's.

Mahalo!

*Moco Loco = grilled beef patty served on a bed of steamed rice, topped with 1-2 fried eggs, a slice of cheese and then the whole thing is covered with gravy. Yup. Island cuisine was amazing!

Comments:
Welcome back. You missed some weather!

Welcome back! Sounds like it was a good trip, other than the sunburns... Did you knit at all?

So envious - but then again, I got a spinning wheel while you were gone. Mwahahahah!

Sounds like a great trip. Any knitting done?

This sounds like a real holiday!

Mmmmm....moco loco sounds heavenly!

You're early! There is still a touch of snow on the ground FROM THE SNOWSTORM YOU MISSED! GAH!

Your trip looks awesome. Oh, how I love Hawaii. My sister used to live on Maui with her surfy boyfriend.

I can't believe you saw sea turtles! That is amazing!!!! What a wonderful way to make memories with your family!

Glad you're back safe and sound.

Welcome home! I've been burned that badly before....it just sorta sneaks up on you without you realizing that it happened.

Looks like you had a lovely time! What a great trip with your family.
