Walkin' Through Water
It has felt like walking through water for the last week in Minnesota. This morning, the sky opened up and now I really am walking through water.
You really need to see it worn to see how cute it is. Check out Turtlegirl she's made a few. My mirror/photo skills are not good.
Also, I'm working on my Karira socks, knitting and reading along The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The book is excellent, by the way, I don't know why I waited so long to read it. I can hardly wait to start the next one. There is a Knitalong over on Ravelry, I have finished the book and now I am enjoying the sock pattern.
I also joined The Official Indie Socks CSK, and I'm ready to cast on the first pattern. The thumb is healing up, Lacrosse is over and I am catching up with my lagging knitting projects. This is the beginning of the Tulip Socks
We are also on the countdown until we leave to take our eldest to college. 15 days and we are on our way to Glacier National Park, Banff, Jasper and Lake Louise. I've got the Passports ready to go.

Alternate Useage of Sock Yarn:
I cast this on three days ago and have just been knitting in circles ever since. The yarn is String Theory Caper Sock Yarn, which has a little cashmere in it. The color is called Nectar. The yarn is really easy on the hands - very silky, it would actually make a gorgeous sweater.

This Is Pair 14 For 2010
Pattern: Hedgerow Socks by Jane Cochran Yarn: The Sanguine Gryphon Eidos Color: Pythagoras Needles: US 1½ - 2.5 mm Started: Sometime in July, 2010 Completed: August 4 2010
Note: Easy pattern. I actually think I have made it before. I like this yarn for it's non-flashing qualities. The color stayed pretty even throughout.
We are having a birthday celebration for Puck this week. Fourteen years old, and his big bro is deserting him in three weeks. It may be too much for his tender heart.

Where Did Our Summer Go?
I started these at the end of June, and I just got them finished up yesterday!
These are actually different photos - these are knit as a mirror image - different on each side.
Pattern: Rick by Cookie A. Yarn: Ruby Sapphire Yarns Treadsoft Sock Yarn Color: Thankful Needles: US 1½ - 2.5 mm Started: June 29, 2010 Completed: August 4 2010
Note: I had made it to the heel on the first sock of this pair and had to rip to the cuff because somewhere along the way I had lost a stitch. After I re-started, I knew to keep track of my repeats and from there on it was easy.
Look for FO #2 tomorrow!
(Also? Go Twins!)

Hail the Conquering Heroes!
Meet the 2010 7/8A State Champions!
Post like crazy and then drop off the face of the earth. That's me. Between summer classes, music lessons and six Lacrosse games last week, I was lucky to breathe.
The biggest excitement at our house last weekend was the State Lacrosse Championships. These photo's are Puck's team, and most of the boys have been playing together since 4th grade. They have been thwarted in their championship endeavor every year. One year making it as far as 2nd place. This is the year that they finally, finally achieved that Championship goal and don't those faces look happy? Can't you tell by their postures that they are a happy team? They have just come from running down the field to mug their goalie (tournament MVP in my mind).
Pensive Puck before the game.
Most of the boys start at the high school this year. This will be their last year of Youth Lacrosse, but what a nice "launching off" into their first year of high school. Puck is actually sad that his season is over and he misses his "lax bros".
Next week I'll be back to WIP's and FO's and stash. In the meantime congrats to the boys!
